            Michelle Neifert:

            Picture
            'Day Job'
I describe my painting as a form of abstract art which uses the exploration of color, gesture and shape as expression.  The visual result is an innate visual representation of feeling.  My forms are entirely self created, sometimes reminiscent of landscape or the human form .  The approach is process based, a spontaneous and intuitive form of painting.  For me it can best be described as a meditative process or positive Samadhi.
The unifying elements of my work are those which create balance in my life and closely related to my spiritual beliefs   “I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness.  That is clear.  Whether one believes in religion or not, whether one believes in this religion or that religion, we are all seeking something better in life.  So, I think, the very motion of our life is towards happiness…”  The Dalai Lama.

My work is about exploration, inward journey, interdependence, human bond, oneness and the connection of feeling.
